St. George’s, Grenada – (March 25, 2026) – The Grenada National Training Agency (GNTA) is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA) in launching the “Work and Learn: Hospitality Apprenticeship Program,” a groundbreaking initiative funded by the Canada Local Engagement and Action Fund (LEAF). This innovative program is expected to certify 45 hospitality professionals, enhancing the employability and career progression of Grenada’s youth and strengthening the island’s hospitality sector.

The program aims to provide comprehensive training for 8 Pastry Chefs, 17 Bartenders and Mixologists, and 20 Housekeeping Supervisors, combining structured classroom instruction at the T. A. Participants successfully completing the training will achieve a Level 3 Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) in their respective areas of specialization, a prestigious certification recognized across the region.

Ms. Arlene Friday, CEO of the GHTA, stated, “This apprenticeship program represents a significant step forward in our commitment to developing a skilled workforce in Grenada’s hospitality sector. By equipping our employees with the necessary skills and certifications, we are not only opening doors for their future success but also enhancing the quality of service in our tourism industry.”

Dr. Kemoy Edwards, CEO of the GNTA, added, “Our collaboration with GHTA and support from the Government of Canada through LEAF underscores the importance of partnerships in addressing skills gaps and fostering workforce development.
