GHTA CEO ATTENDS FIRST CSHAE RETREAT SINCE THE PANDEMIC

This month marked the return of a critical event on the calendar for regional tourism Chief executives. Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association CEO Arlene Friday attended The Caribbean Society of Hotel Association Executives (CSHAE) retreat from February 2nd to February 4th.

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association created CSHAE to develop the executive members of the associations across the Caribbean. CSHAE helps nurture the relationship between CHTA and the associations; voice the concerns of executives and their associations and much more. The retreat takes place annually and is essential to tourism’s development within the Caribbean.

It involves an intense three-day work session for the top executives of the Hotel and Tourism Associations in the Caribbean. Executives shared information, learned from each other’s successes and failures, and strategically planned the future of CSHAE and the individual associations.

Bringing together such a treasure trove of knowledge helps each association learn to address their unique challenges from the experiences of others and build off of their shared successes. It allows them to work together meaningfully and build resilience across the Caribbean.

Now that the retreat has ended, the GHTA CEO, Arlene Friday, returns to Grenada equipped with more knowledge and insight to enlighten the GHTA membership. The work continues in 2023 to expand and re-imagine the tourism industry.

2023 is also a big year for GHTA as they celebrate their 60th Anniversary.
