GHTA Launched Group Health, Life and Air Ambulance Insurance Programme
St. George, Grenada – October 19, 2021 – The Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association (GHTA), the private sector voice of Grenada’s tourism industry, launched the GHTA Group Health, Life and Air Ambulance Insurance Programme. This programme is the first of its kind in the island’s tourism industry and is a new step in the execution of the GHTA plan to better harmonise the benefits provided to members’ employees.
Chief Executive Officer, Arlene Friday said “As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, many continue to experience stress, including financial stress. The GHTA, therefore, plans to help alleviate health burdens by providing a holistic approach to health care with additional programs that can help members stay healthy, live independently and keep their health care costs low to reach their health care goals.” Ms. Friday also stated, “This service would greatly benefit staff throughout our sector including those that work with land and sea tour operators, taxis, vendors and within small hotels. We need to keep our population safe and it begins with access to affordable healthcare.”
Grenada’s tourism sector is one of the largest employers in the country’s economy. The employees will have access to health care for themselves and their families under the new initiative.
Guyana & Trinidad Mutual Fire & Life Insurance Companies (GTM) – one of Grenada’s leading insurance providers and Medical Air Services Assist (MASA Assist) – a global air ambulance service, came together to provide an all-inclusive package that is affordable for employers who want to provide insurance for their employees. The programme will join the list of benefits to all members allowing businesses of all sizes to participate.
