Hurricane Preparedness
Early season preparations
It is critical that the hurricane team meet in early June to fully discuss preparations for the upcoming
hurricane season. The following points should be considered:
- Willingness of the team to remain on property should it be required
- Purchase and storage of required hurricane inventory
- Overview of individuals responsibility
- Gutter and drain clearing
- Which trees need pruning or removing
- Order of priority for removal of awnings. Can some be removed early for the hurricane season
- Maintenance of Generator
- Water storage
- Propane supplies
- Vulnerability of Solar panels
- Any vulnerable buildings needing special attention (boutique)
- Any doors or windows needing maintenance
- Any other issues
