Powerful Synergy at GHTA Members’ Meeting Ignites a Brighter Future for Grenada’s Tourism Industry

St. George’s, Grenada - May 24, 2023 - The Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA) has concluded a highly successful members’ meeting at the Coyaba Beach Resort Conference room. This vibrant gathering, characterized by its engaging and in-depth presentations, underscored GHTA’s dedication to enhancing value for its members and shaping Grenada’s tourism future.

GHTA CEO, Ms. Arlene Friday, opened the meeting with encouraging words about GHTA’s commitment to its members and the industry and included a heartfelt gratitude to all the members in attendance. GHTA President, Ms. Kendra Hopkin, followed with powerful words emphasizing the value of local and regional alliances. She went on to highlight the importance of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association and its role in developing our regional tourism products.

The first of the guest speakers, Hon. Lennox Andrews, Minister of Tourism, gave an enlightening presentation on the government’s strategic role in supporting sustainable tourism development. He emphasized the vital importance of public-private partnerships and shared his visionary plans for Grenada’s tourism sector.

Further insights into the Grenada Tourism Authority’s (GTA) activities and collaborative efforts with the GHTA were shared by GTA representatives, CEO, Petra Roach, COO, Kirl Hoschtialek, and Communications Officer, lyssa Bierzinski. These presentations illuminated the GTA’s forward-thinking approach to bolstering Grenada’s tourism sector.

A compelling address by a representative from the T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC)’s tourism and hospitality division highlighted the progressive partnership between TAMCC, GHTA and GTA. This initiative aims to elevate the quality of training for students, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver outstanding service to Grenada’s visitors. Students studying culinary tourism even prepared a myriad of delectable food for the attendees, giving them a taste of what the program brings to their businesses.

GHTA also shared impactful video presentations; recapping GHTA’s significant achievements throughout the year; promoting the invaluable work of the Tourism Enhancement Fund and promoting GHTA’s Group Health Life and Air Ambulance Insurance. These videos captivated the members and showcased what we can achieve with hard work and collaboration.

The meeting wrapped up with a lively networking session, providing members an invaluable opportunity to connect and explore collaborative opportunities. GHTA extends heartfelt thanks to all members who attended the meeting and actively participated in its success.
